Travelling on a Gluten Free diet may seem like a pain, but, to be honest, it really doesn’t have to be. Particularly once you learn the art of finding gluten free hotels on your travels. Then you will never have to worry where your next meal will come from at your home away from home.
Because I know what it is like for us Gluten Free folk when travelling half way across the world or even just interstate. It can be tough finding gluten free hotels and other places to eat out on such a specific diet. But! You can rid yourself of that pain right now.
Why? Because finding gluten free hotels really is easier than you think.
Sure most hotels won’t advertise that they are gluten free, and that is the first thing you need to realize. And because most of them won’t advertise, it means you need to take matters into your own hands and check out their menus.
This part is generally quite easy, especially if these hotels are online, where you can pre-check there dining menu. Or, if they are not online, ask for a copy of their menu as you arrive at the hotel.
The best thing about finding gluten free hotels is, you don’t really need to look!
Why you may well ask. Well simply because every hotel wants to not only impress their clients, but treat them with the utmost respect and cater to their needs.
And what are your needs . . . . That’s right, a gluten free diet.
So in saying that, if you can’t find something gluten free on the menu. Either ask if they can make some changes for you on a certain dish to make it gluten free, or possibly even ask them to whip you something up that is gluten free and not on their menu.
All this means it is quite simple travelling on a gluten free diet, especially when it comes to finding gluten free hotels. The fact that you don’t necessarily need to look takes a lot of stress off your shoulders.
It also helps you to realise that you can do this nearly everywhere you go travelling. It never hurts to ask questions. And if you never ask you will never know. So next time you need something gluten free, just politely ask and more often than not you will be rewarded with something you can eat.
