How to make eating Gluten free abroad easy

It so sad to know that there are people out there who are holding back from travel because they believe that eating gluten free abroad will be almost impossible, when it can really be quite the opposite.

Yesterday I was talking to a young 20 year old at my workplace, who is very keen to travel. He has no idea of my background, nor do I stop him in his tracks and tell him that travel is my life’s goal.

I let him continue on telling me about where he and his girlfriend would love to go in the world. Once he had rattled off a few places, I nod my head knowing that I can help and actually give some travel advice to this young bloke, he stops for a brief moment and says to me, “The thing is though, although we really want to travel but my girlfriend has coeliac disease, you know that disease where you can’t eat gluten, and I think it would just be really hard for us to travel you know?”

I let him finish his sentence as my body became tingly with goose bumps, not because I was cold, but because I realized that through what I have been doing for over 10 years now, my knowledge and experience of being on a gluten free diet whilst travelling the globe, I will actually be able help this kind hearted young man to make eating gluten free abroad that much easier for his girlfriend.

“In vain you have acquired knowledge if you have not imparted it to others” – Dueteronomy Rabbah

So I said to him, “Dude you have no idea, I have coeliac disease. I have been on the diet for over 15 years now and have been travelling for about 10 years, and I can tell you that eating gluten free abroad is so much easier than everybody perceives it to be”

You see, my goal at the ripe old age of 14 was to initially be rich when I grew up (Yes, I am still working on it). But then my goals changed, I wanted to travel the world. I later realized that travel and life experiences can also make you rich, more so than what money ever could.

Which is why I am not just grateful to be living my dream of travelling the world, but also to be extending my experiences and knowledge of travelling the world and eating gluten free abroad.

I also know that there are many people out there with coeliac disease that have hopes and dreams of world travel too, and it would be such a shame for their travel goals to be crushed due to misinformed knowledge of how easy eating gluten free abroad really is.

So on that note, any of you who are out there, wanting to gallivant the globe on a gluten free diet, know that it can be done and most certainly has and is being done right now! I am living breathing proof of it.

Knowing that you are not going at it alone, and, most importantly knowing that I am here to help you with everything you need to know, before, after and during gluten free travel.

Which is why I want to say, if there is anything you need to know, questions you may wish to ask or help you may need to understand how easy it can be eating gluten free abroad, please comment in the box below, check out more of my blog posts on gluten free travel or head to my contact page and send me a private message. I am always willing to help.
